The Life of the Universe…

This morning, I read a translation of Allama Iqbal‘s metaphysical verse. The subject matter and range of Iqbal’s poetry is amazing. The message here is universally applicable to individuals, societies and civilizations.

The life of the Universe springs from movement,

To halt on this path is inopportune;

There is death hidden in the static state,

Those on the move have gone ahead,

And those who halted a bit have been trampled.
